GTA VI delayed from Fall 2025 to May 26, 2026
Rockstar moved the launch out of Fall 2025 to a hard date — May 26, 2026 — with an apology: "we are very sorry that this is later than you expected."
Seventeen months after Trailer 1 promised “2025,” Rockstar swapped the vague window for a hard date: May 26, 2026. The Newswire post was short and unusually direct — “we are very sorry that this is later than you expected” — and framed the extra months as the time needed to finish the game at the quality players expect. The apology landed better than most delay notes because of what followed: Trailer 2 surprise-dropped just four days later. The May date itself lasted only until November 2025, when a second delay fixed the launch at November 19, 2026 — the date that still holds. Full history on the release date page.
